Since 2006, SAP software is available for x64-servers running the
Oracle Solaris operating system. This opens the opportunity for different hardware
vendors to sell their x64-servers as Solaris servers for SAP applications.
Customers on the other hand can choose Solaris as the operating system on
"standard servers" and they have the choice of different vendors for
this servers.
To ensure stability and scalability of a certain hardware, SAP and Oracle require
a hardware certification for a server to allow a productive and supported use
of this platform. This certification is done in addition to the standard h/w certification
run by Oracle's Solaris group (Solaris HCL).
On behalf of Oracle, *xware performs the
SAP specific certification and maintains the list of certified hardware on this website.
